places beloved scripture passages in pure silver, creating jewelry that is a source of encouragement and a reminder of faith for those who wear it.
Precious text pieces are each individually crafted by hand. They are created from metal clay, an innovative art material which begins as clay and during firing, becomes fine silver (99.9% pure). The wet clay is pressed against molds made from printed text. Many pieces also have impressions of foliage and other textural materials. The pieces are complemented by colored polymer clay and assorted natural stone and glass beads. Chain, wire, and earring components included are sterling silver. Each pendant includes the artists’ signature in a bead at the clasp.
Patricia Kimle has been creating art jewelry with polymer clay for over 15 years. She has written a book of polymer designs and has written numerous how-to project articles for bead and jewelry craft magazines. In 2005, she expanded her media specialties to include silver-smithing and working with the new material of metal clay. She teaches craft classes locally and around the country.
